Cleveland Metropolitan School District Honors Promoters of Healthy Eating & Exercise
On May 5, the Cleveland Metropolitan School District hosted an awards ceremony to honor schools, principals, teachers and parents working to promote health and wellness throughout the district. HealthCorps high school, Ginn Academy, was among the schools recognized for its efforts and won three awards: School Breakfast Champion; Early Implementation Award; and National Recognized School. Terrika Kelley, HealthCorps coordinator at Ginn Academy, was invited to participate in the event, and hosted four informational sessions for educators. Read more here.

HealthCorps Joins KCRA-TV Health and Wellness Festival
On Saturday, May 16th, HealthCorps was a special guest at the KCRA-TV Health and Wellness Festival featuring Dr. Oz. Michelle Bouchard, President of HealthCorps, was also on hand to thank Sacramento and the capital region for the tremendous support it has shown HealthCorps over the past four years.
The day-long event at the Roseville Galleria featured the Sacramento Kings Dancers as well as hands-on activities, and main stage entertainment, including a performance by Healthcorps’ Encina High School iDigit Dance Team, student-led Zumba, yoga, meditation, and a Teen Battle Chef competition hosted by Dr. Mehmet Oz and judged by Chef Patrick Mulvaney, Sacramento Kings President Chris Granger and his wife Jennifer, and California Walnut Board Executive Director Dennis Balint — as well as other competitions, demos, and health screenings for the whole family!
HealthCorps Highway to Health NYC Offers Health Screenings, Fitness, Fun, and Food
On Sunday, May 17th, HealthCorps hosted its 7th Annual Highway to Health Festival at the South Street Seaport Historic District in Manhattan. It was a warm, sunny day and included among this year’s festival events were health and wellness activities; performances by musical groups the ICONic Boyz, The Deep End, Joel Allette, and August West Band; free health screenings; healthy food and beverage samples; fitness demonstrations including Zumba and yoga; exhibitors from top health organizations in the city; and a Teen Battle Chef Competition featuring three HealthCorps high school teams and judges Candice Kumai (celebrity chef), Duke Castiglione (Fox 5 NY sports anchor), and Dean Stattman (editorial director of Radius).
Our official music video for our HealthCorps Anthem also made its public debut at the event.
