Support the PHYSICAL Act

Posted 03/13/2015 | By HealthCorps

The PHYSICAL Act was recently reintroduced in the Senate (it was first introduced in February of 2013) and HealthCorps wants your support in getting this bill passed. This has been part of our lobbying effort for the past five years. Our mission at HealthCorps is to help the next generation make healthier lifestyle choices through our curriculum and support, which includes educating the public about new bills and initiatives.

Here’s a quick synopsis of the bill:

Full bill name: Promoting Health as Youth Skills In Classrooms and Life Act.

The bill aims to make health and physical education a part of the “core academic subjects” in elementary and secondary education.

We all need to show the Senate why we believe health and physical education is a vital subject needed in our schools.  Regular physical activity is associated with a range of health benefits.  Physical activity can help kids and teens to maintain energy balance and a healthy weight.

As many of you may know, Senator Udall introduced the PHYSICAL Act , You can tweet directly to him via Twitter
