Travis Croom wants to live in a world where the health of our communities increases every year, year after year.
As the Living Labs Coordinator at HealthCorps, he’s actively working towards that goal but more importantly having fun doing so. Our health may be serious business but that doesn’t mean we can’t stop to smell the flowers along the way.
His favorite part about working for HealthCorps is working hands on with teens not only to improve their individual health, but the health of their communities as well.
A native of New Braunfels, Texas, he graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and completed his Master’s in Public Health at the UT Health Science Center School of Public Health in Houston, Texas where he also worked for two years in health research.
Travis is most proud of his home garden, which currently contains 8 different kinds of herbs, various vegetables depending on the season, and healthy amount of native flowers available for the perusing of local pollinators.
When he’s not working to provide youth with ways to incorporate healthy practices into their daily lives you can find him swimming in the closest body of water, year round. (yes, even when it’s winter)
Travis’ biggest aspiration is to visit all 58 national parks in the United States.
