March 2017: Letter from the President

Letter from the President

Michelle-Bouchard

Friends,

HealthCorps’ educational programming (Living Labs  & HealthCorps University professional development) continues to establish a good body of research substantiating our positive impact on students and schools.  We also continue to broaden and strengthen the immediacy and relevance of our work. New and enhanced initiatives are positioning us as:

  • An organization that gives young people immediate life saving skills (CPR, Opiod-Substance Abuse Prevention, Heimlich Maneuver, Organ Donation, resilience tools to prevention Depression-Suicide ) as well as long term life saving skills (Mental Resilience, Nutrition and Exercise tools to promote positive mental outlook and prevent health challenges such as diabetes and heart problems).
  • A Leader in the Online Education that fully utilizes and trains others in an online curriculum..
  • A Convener of Youth to discuss topics important to them (Depression/Mental Health, Fitting In/Tribe, Sex, Being Heard/Respect)
  • A Convener of Stakeholders to discuss topics important to our students.

We are embracing new technologies that enable us to engage our students in innovative ways  – such as the debut of virtual reality “Sugar Goggles” at Coral Gables High School in partnership with Atkins Nutritionals.

Please join us at some of the exciting events we have planned for our upcoming fiscal year (July 1, 2017 – June 30th, 2018).

I look forward to seeing many of you soon in New York City at our Annual Gala so I can thank you in person for helping us saves lives!

In gratitude,

Michelle Bouchard
