Letter from the President
Participating in this month’s Texas Two Step hands on CPR training was particularly meaningful for me. When I was a freshman in high school, I was alone at home with my father when he had a massive coronary. He was 42-years old. We didn’t know what was happening and I had no idea what to do. As I watched the kids at Sharpstown High School train in CPR, I realized that several of them would one day be in the same situation with a loved one in physical distress as I. However, they would have the skill to save a life.
HealthCorps is practical. The things we teach can be used immediately. The tools we give teachers and students are tools all participants in the American educational system deserve.
From the school-wide daily-guided meditation Kenai gives his Houston students to the positive thought exercise Maggie gives hers in Charlotte, HealthCorps gives young people the ability to change their stressful world.
In May we will celebrate our tenth anniversary Gala. Please help us change the lives of more Americans by joining us for this very special celebration. You can also help support HealthCorps by donating an item or experience for our auction. And, If you know of anyone, we should meet, please reach out to me and let me know. We are counting on your help and grateful for your support always.
