Women who use oral contraception or OC as it’s called, showed decreasing levels of vitamin B12 over significant periods of time. Most of the women in the study were tested after 5 months of OC use, and still had serum B12 levels within normal limits, and there did not appear to be a negative impact on bone density.

If you or someone you know suffers with hot flashes associated with menopause, then they might want to consider hypnotherapy. In a recent study out of New Orleans, a five session program reduced participants’ hot flashes by as much as 80%. The therapy specifically included relaxation guidance, as well as direct and indirect suggestions.

Last year’s measles rates nationwide were the highest they’ve been since 1996. A total of 222 cases, 17 outbreaks in 31 states were reported.
