Quick End of Summer Fixes
Did you get a sun burn despite your best efforts to block out harmful burning rays?
- Whole milk can actually soothe the burn – the lactic acid in the milk reduces inflammation. Soak compresses or a washcloth in whole milk and keep on affected areas for 20 minutes. Then rinse with cool water and repeat every few hrs.
Did you get bitten by insects or develop athlete’s foot?
- Apple cider vinegar is an excellent remedy – just dab directly on the affected areas with a Q-tip or paper towel. Mix 3 parts warm water to one part vinegar and soak feet daily to help treat and prevent athlete’s foot.
Are you seeing more acne despite your best efforts to keep skin clean and despite using products that claim to not block pores?
- Make sure that you are getting all your make up and sunscreen off at night. Residue from both can cause already clogged pores to erupt with blemishes. Using a facial scrub that specifically matches your skin type, once or twice weekly, can also help.
