Profile of a HealthCorps Partner: Power Crunch

Posted 04/24/2014 | By HealthCorps

Power Crunch says they make “brain food for our bodies.” They are obsessed with good health and science drives them to create new ways to present protein with good taste and exquisite texture. They make bars, drink and powders, and their products can fit the lifestyle of an elite athlete or an active person looking for a smart, healthy snack.

The protein base of their products is whey protein. It’s hydrolyzed into the smallest protein peptides, which means that the protein is more rapidly and completely absorbed, giving your body maximal protein support. Because of this delivery system, there is a low glycemic response which means slower blood sugar release and therefore more modulated blood sugar spikes. That means you won’t crash and feel hungry or sluggish after eating a Power Crunch bar or shake.

If you want a portable snack, their bars come in three groups – Original protein energy bar, Choklat protein energy bar and Crisp protein energy bar. The Original bar comes in seven flavors and has a light wafer and crunchy consistency. You can refrigerate it to reduce “crumbles.” The bars have 13 grams of protein, 5 grams of sugar and average about 200 calories. Choklat is a protein energy bar that comes in two flavors and has 10 grams of protein, 5 grams of sugar and about 220 calories. It’s more of a decadent dessert bar – obviously with pretty good nutritionals. The new crisp bars, just featured at Natural Products Expo West 2014 come in four flavors, gluten free, and a bit lighter than the Original bars. They have 13 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber, and about 185 calories per bar. There are also two types of protein powders and a ready-made protein drink called Blast.

You can buy these bars online or in most supermarkets, health food stores and pharmacies. Power Crunch was also one of the featured products in our Savory Garden Gala gift bag!
