HealthCorps to host Wellness Day event in Houston on September 18th

 

HOUSTON, Texas (August 08, 2018) — HealthCorps, a national non-profit organization, founded by Dr. Mehmet Oz and devoted to making students stronger, will host its first ever Wellness Day on September 18that the United Way Houston from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The event will provide a day of health and wellness with the goal of creating a more #healthyhouston. Houston will be the first stop before heading to Los Angeles and other major U.S. cities. HealthCorps, which is headquartered in Houston, is bringing together the best of the wellness community for a day of experiential learning, panel discussions, and the opportunity to discover the amazing local resources in the area.

“This event is the first of its kind, and I couldn’t think of a better place than Houston to start this journey. We work every day bringing wellness programming to youth, but this is our chance to dig even deeper into the community and directly fuel adults who can create environments that empower youth to take control of their own health and well-being. With a focus on the important role of mental strength and mindset, wellness rookies and experts alike will leave motivated and inspired,” said seminar director and HealthCorps program specialist Maegan Lewis.

Interactive and thoughtful sessions will include: the power of keeping wellness simple, a guided strategy to help destress, movement and stretching for every day, meditation with Sahaja Meditation, panel discussions on the art of prioritizing wellness and how to influence others to live well, and the importance of resilience to build community; and setting intentions.

International Chef and HealthCorps Ambassador Delphine Remy will serve as keynote speaker for the event.A holistic nutrition and eating psychology coach, Ms. Remy possesses Coaching certifications in Holistic Nutrition, Mind Body Nutrition and Eating Psychology. She is an Eating Disorder Intuitive Therapy (EDIT)™ Certified Practitioner. She also served as editor for HealthCorps’ first teen cookbook Healthy Bites and Tasty Delights.
