WHY: HealthCorps, a national health and wellness not-for-profit organization founded by Dr. Mehmet Oz and his wife Lisa, will provide experiential learning to medical professionals from around the country at Healthcare Promoters’ Annual Summit in Las Vegas. HealthCorps will provide training in the pillars of HealthCorps University: nutrition, physical fitness and mental resiliency. The medical professionals will be trained on three modules: Nutrition: Rethink Your Drink, Physical Activity: Four Factors of Fitness and Mental Resilience: Challenge, Bring It On. The participants will also partake in an office chair yoga session. The medical professionals will be trained to incorporate these HealthCorps topics into their medical practices and their community outreach.
HealthCorps University (HCU) is HealthCorps’ train the trainer professional development program that makes the HealthCorps principles and curriculum available to any interested schools, summer camps, and organizations. Leading the presentation and training will be HealthCorps Program Manager Kelly Nimmer and HealthCorps University Program Assistant Latisha Williams.
Healthcare Promoters was founded by Drs. Nancy and Todd Singleton of the Singleton System. Healthcare Promoters is a network of medical professionals committed to combat the obesity epidemic in America. It provides their network with education programs to help promote a healthy lifestyle in their communities. Using a grassroots approach, its members promote healthy living and nutrition through in-person education at community centers, schools and workplaces.
MEDIA INSTRUCTIONS: Photo opportunities and interviews with HealthCorps staff, Dr. Nancy Singleton and Dr. Todd Singleton will take place from 4:30-4:50 pm immediately following the training session.
