Like Sandwiches? Choose “Thin”

If you love a meal that includes a bun or sandwich, then the new sandwich and bun “thins” allow you to have the experience, while shaving off a fair number of calories. Some are fiber-rich, and many are chock full of whole grains. You can also find “mini-wraps” which will cost you 50 calories per serving (La Tortilla brand).

You can also reduce the amount of saturated fat in the protein selections that you use for these sandwich meals, by mixing in grilled tofu cubes or beans with grilled chicken or meat strips, and by using smaller portions of the meat- based protein in your sandwich, by adding vegetable additions. You can also cut ground red meat by adding in silken tofu, beans or chopped white meats.
