Let’s Move Features Kids’ State Dinner Winners

Posted 08/08/2013 | By HealthCorps

HealthCorps partnered with Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move campaign in the past, with similar goals fueling the relationship.  Similar to HealthCorps, but focusing on younger students, Let’s Move is inspiring healthier moms, healthier kids, healthier schools and healthier communities.

Recently, 1300 junior chefs from schools around the nation competed to create delicious lunchtime recipes in the second Healthy Lunchtime Competition.  A winning chef recipe was chosen from each state and 3 United States territories.  On July 9th, the winners traveled with their parents to the second annual Kids’ State Dinner at the White House.

Winning recipes included Sweet Potato Turkey Sliders, Sushi Salad, Raisin Bran Muffins, and Picky Eater Pita Pizza Pocket.  For a full list of the winners and their tasty and healthy recipes, check out: http://www.letsmove.gov/kids-state-dinner-winners.
