Keep Healthy Snacks Handy While Waiting to Vote

Depending on the time of day and where you live, you may be waiting in line while waiting to vote.  Keeping your blood sugar stable will ensure that you can focus on your important voting selections today!!  And if you have your kids or older folks with you, they will need a healthy food boost while they wait with you.  Use a small cooler if you live in a location that’s still enjoying warm weather, and be sure to bring napkins, a small garbage bag to collect refuse and hand sanitizer.

Consider the following:

  • Bananas, pre-washed apples or pears, individual bags of berries or grapes
  • Small bags of nuts
  • Small bags of trail mix made by mixing equal parts of whole grain cereal, nuts like shelled walnuts, high in omega 3s, and some dried fruit
  • Pre-portioned bags of soybeans
  • Water or 100% juice boxes
  • Small bags of cut up carrots, celery and cucumbers
  • Small boxes of raisins
