It’s great to live in New York if…..
… You are hoping to walk a lot. Among the 50 largest cities in the US, New York City is considered the “most walkable city.” According to www.walkscore.com, New York scored an 85.3 out of a possible 100 for easy access without a car to daily amenities and necessities. San Francisco came in second and other notable cities were Boston, Chicago, Washington DC, and Miami. Apparently people aren’t finding it easy to walk in Jacksonville, Florida, which got a score in the low 30’s.
Of course, Dr. Oz would tell you that regardless of which city you live in, wearing a pedometer can objectively clue you in to just how many steps you are walking daily. Your ultimate goal should be 10,000 steps a day.
