A new study concludes that adults who suffer from dry eyes may benefit and actually get relief from…..caffeine. In a study, tear production increased threefold, 45 minutes after adults received caffeine tablets, while those who received a placebo pill showed no change. Caffeine does stimulate secretions, and the phenomenon appears to extend to tear production.

Don’t worry…..be happy…..A positive psychological state appears to support heart health, including up to a 50% reduction in a “first cardiac event,” according to experts at the Harvard School of Public Health.

Did you know you can get an “omega 3 fatty acid level” screening blood test? Your doctor can perform this test, or there are also home tests to measure levels of two omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA. Optimal blood levels of these 2 fatty acids combined, is 8% or higher. A suboptimal level can mean an elevated risk of developing heart disease (especially if you have other risk factors).
