HealthCorps to host 2nd Annual Wellness Day event in Houston on September 27th with special keynote speaker Henry Richardson
HOUSTON, Texas (September 13, 2019) — HealthCorps, a national mental and physical wellness nonprofit founded by Dr. Mehmet Oz and Lisa Oz, is pleased to announce it will host its 2nd Annual Wellness Day on September 27that the United Way Houston from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The free event is sponsored by the Holthouse Foundation for Kids.
HealthCorps, which is headquartered in Houston, will provide a curated day of health and wellness, giving participants the opportunity to connect and learn from local and national wellness experts. Attendees will participate in interactive sessions that focus on mind and body, develop and hone skills to tackle personal wellness goals, and hear from passionate change-makers in the industry.
“We set out to simply create a platform for local experts and influencers to share important knowledge, but the reality is so much more than that. People leave with lasting connections to the resources, skills, and tools they need to take care of mind as well as body,” said seminar director and HealthCorps program specialist Maegan Lewis.
Interactive and thoughtful sessions will include:
A keynote address by Henry Richardson, founder of DEFINE body & mind, a Houston based barre, cycle, yoga franchise. Henry will share his philosophy of mind/body integration and provide attendees with a guide for living their best life.
Changing the nutrition narrative: A new perspective on choosing how and what to eat, blogger and nutrition expert, Casey Barbles share how intention, psychology, knowledge and kindness all affect everyday food choices.
The Business of Wellness: A Panel Discussion, a panel of lifestyle experts will discuss all things wellness—building a wellness business, finding balance in a busy world, the role of community in seeking success, and the future of health and wellness. Panelists will include: Estela Cockrell, Owner, Switch2Pure, Caroline Knapp, Founder, House of Harper, and Sweat 1000 trainer and former Division I softball player Charlise Springer.
Other topics will include: the art of science and mindfulness, brain health and stress, the KonMari Method, setting goals and intentions, and yoga.
