Many Coordinators have started their school year – happy and healthy. Below is a sampling of the programming they are sharing with students and faculty.

Autumn Yoder at Ada High School in Ada, OK kicked off the school year with the lunchroom program –Cafe O’ Yea and a Fruit for Fitness demonstration where students complete physical activities for fresh fruit. It’s a fun way to bring HealthCorps to the school for both new and returning students.

Mariela Magaña Ceballos at Byng High School in Ada, OK is using Cafe O’ Yea to help students visualize their success. Students write down their goals for the academic year and taste fresh fruits for a fresh start!

Terrika Kelley at Ginn Academy in Cleveland, OH organized a staff beverage challenge during staff professional development in which the staff were charged to put on their mixologist hats and help create their very own GA Juice (Ginn Academy Juice) and GA Smoothie. The result – a proud faculty and a personalized healthy beverage for guests who visit the school (pictured).

Latisha Williams at Garinger High School in Charlotte, NC hosted a HealthCorps booth at freshman Open House, where she highlighted HealthCorps programs from last year along with the after-school programs for this upcoming school year. Parents and students signed up to receive HealthCorps alerts as events come up throughout the year!
