Friday Fitness Tip: Shake things up a bit!
Are you in an exercise rut? Are you bored with your current exercise regimen? Are you noticing that you’re struggling to maintain your weight or have you stopped seeing improvements in your muscle tone? The problem is pretty typical and the fix is easy. Shake things up a bit.
If you are a runner, consider adding weight training. It will help to build upper body strength, which will provide more muscle mass, improve your running times and adding a new element to your exercise routine. If you ride a bike outdoors regularly or use an exercise bike in a gym, it’s time to introduce the elliptical or the rowing machine to your regimen, challenging your body and adding a fresh workout discipline to your exercise program. Or maybe what you’re missing is camaraderie. Try a class like Zumba, Kettle Bells, kickboxing or even a weight training class. Adding a social element to some of your exercises can help motivate your efforts and intensity.
