Dr. Mehmet Oz to Co-host Special Dinner for HealthCorps to Help Stem Child Obesity At Charity’s First New Orleans Benefit

October 5, 2011 – New York, New York – HealthCorps®, the wellness movement co-founded by world-renowned cardiac surgeon and two-time Emmy® Award-winning host of “The Dr. Oz Show,” Dr. Mehmet Oz, will hold its first ever New Orleans fundraiser on Friday, October 14. The event marks the launch of the HealthCorps peer mentoring high school program in New Orleans, as well as its new partnership with Evamor Water, the Official Water Sponsor of HealthCorps.

WHAT: An intimate evening with Dr. Oz, HealthCorps Chairman, includes a cocktail reception, dinner and music for 200 guests. WHO: Dr. Mehmet Oz and Caroline and Bo Reily will also co-host the event and welcome a range of prominent guests from New Orleans social and celebrity circles. Dr. Oz will discuss the unique charity he co-founded with his wife, Lisa Oz, that engages youth as the catalyst to help get Americans to embrace healthier lifestyle habits.

The event represents the first New Orleans fundraiser for HealthCorps, which is establishing its program in two local high schools, New Orleans Charter Science and Mathematics High School and McDonogh 35, thanks to the generosity of new funders Evamor Water.
