December 2018: Letter from the President
Dear HealthCorps Family,
2018 has brought us unbelievable opportunities to reach out to those in need of mental and physical strength. The HealthCorps program is currently located in almost 60 sites across the country empowering students and communities with skills that equip them to take charge of their well-being.
Throughout the year, as I visited some of our outstanding Coordinators in their schools, I was amazed by the fun but invaluable ways they share information with their students. Their students not only learn— they are actively sharing all they learn with friends and family. Our teens are reaching out to trusted adults to discuss difficult but critical subjects. They are meditating and teaching their friends to as well. They are adopting lifestyles rather than “fad” diets and spreading that lifestyle to their loved ones.
Our Coordinators are also greatly impacting the staff and faculty members with whom they work. Through Fitness challenges, Stress Strategy workshops, Appreciation Days and more, HealthCorps school and site staff are showing us that you can teach an old dog new tricks that make their lives better and happier.
I hope you’ll take a minute to read our Annual Report where you’ll find more stories about communities growing stronger now thriving in health. They are feeling and living better — and that is undoubtedly because of your support.
I cannot express enough thanks to you for being a part of the HealthCorps family. I’m looking forward to bringing more strength to the nation with you in the new year.
President, HealthCorps Inc.
