Can you guide me through shopping for a Mediterranean-style diet?

You will want to include fresh, dried, frozen or “canned without added sugar” fruits, and loads of vegetables, also fresh, frozen, or canned without added salt. Include low fat dairy and healthy fats like olive, canola, grape seed and sesame oils. Include a variety of whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. Include a variety of fish and shellfish and use a range of fresh and dried herbs and spices.

The idea is to create a balanced diet that emphasizes selections from these food groups while personalizing the approach to your specific tastes and health needs.
