Can I find these natural products?
If you live in a big city, then you typically have a large supermarket, or several, that offer many of the products showcased at the Natural Products Expo. Thanks to online presence, many of these companies will ship to you, often at no cost or low cost. So if you can’t find some of my mentions, try searching online.
I love Crunchies because kids and adults sometimes want a non-perishable, crunchy alternative to fruit (though a whole fruit should always be your first go to option). Crunchies come in snack size and family size pouches and are freeze dried a special way to preserve their nutrients, sans any added ingredients. They are great as a quick go-to snack and you can add them to cereal, yogurt or drizzle bananas with a bit of chocolate syrup and then dip the bananas in the Crunchies and freeze- it’s my special banana dessert.
I love edamame beans and think they are great finger foods for kids, who love to pop the beans out of the pod. Also called soy beans, you can now find roasted soy nuts, soy nut butter and a delightful snack called Crunch Ma – Me, which comes in six flavors and is relatively low sodium, by comparison. No GMOs, no preservatives, and high in protein and fiber, it’s a fun and tasty “treat” snack.
Finally, Healthy Warrior offers snacks that include chia seeds in a pouch and chia seeds in 100 calorie nutrition bars. You can add the chia seeds to cereals, salads, smoothies, even a healthy turkey burger or turkey loaf. A tablespoon of Chia seeds will cost you 30 calories and give you 6 grams of fiber, 3 grams of protein and a healthy dose of “good fat,” mostly omega-3.
