Can I eat eggs if I have an elevated LDL (bad cholesterol) or elevated total cholesterol?

Experts recommend consumption of up to 4 eggs per week or unlimited egg whites, if your LDL is elevated (of if your total cholesterol is above 200). If you have a normal LDL or total cholesterol, then you can consume up to 7 eggs per week. Everyone should track consumption of saturated fat, especially if you have elevated LDL or total cholesterol. Red meat, dairy products and fast food are the primary sources of saturated fat in the American diet.
