Benefits of Basmati

Watercress is a cruciferous vegetable that scores a full 100 when rated for a panel of 16 key nutrients and fiber by the CDC. Some other close winners included Chinese cabbage, chard, beer greens, spinach, chicory leaf, leaf lettuce, parsley, romaine lettuce, collards and turnip greens.

Basmati rice has been found to have less arsenic than other rice, but specifically source your Basmati rice from California, India or Pakistan.

Quick recipe: Consider mixing several of the vegetables above with cold cooked Basmati rice, cherry tomatoes, diced peppers and edamame (soy beans) for a nutritious and tasty salad. Nut oils like walnut oil can be the perfect base for a healthy dressing.
