Avoiding Mild Depression

If you are prone to mood swings and mild depression, then commit to maintaining a stable lifestyle:

  • Go to sleep at the same time daily (even on weekends).
  • Eat a diet rich in nutrients and avoid processed foods.
  • Exercise daily.
  • Control stress
  • Use alcohol with caution
  • Use special wavelength light bulbs in the winter, sunless months, that mimic sunlight

Quick tip: If you take medication to stabilize your blood pressure, consider taking it before bedtime. A recent study suggests that blood pressure (systolic) dips during sleep were associated with reduced risk of cardiac events.
