What are 3 easy habits I can embrace for better health?
(1) If you do watch a lot of TV, then get moving during commercials. You can do marching in place, push ups, sit ups, jumping jacks, lunges squats or keep some hand weights close by and do 3 different exercises during each 2-3 minute commercial break.
(2) Commit to eating 4 different colors on your lunch and dinner plate. Since fruits and vegetables come in a variety of colors, have a minimum of 2 servings of vegetables and one serving of fruit at each meal and choose different colors. Those colors represent different phytochemicals, compounds associated with promoting health and reducing the risk of certain diseases.
(3) Go fishing, as in committing to eat 3 servings of low mercury fish weekly. Salmon, sardines, tuna, halibut, orange roughy, petrale sole are all good selections. If you eat tuna from the can choose chunk light (it has a bit less mercury) packed in water.
