HealthCorps is excited to announce the appointment of our president, Michelle Bouchard, to the Board of Advisors of the University of Houston Hobby Center for Public Policy.
Her service with the Board begins August 31, 2015.
Established in 1981, the Center operates within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Houston as a national non-partisan research organization. The Center is named in honor of William P. Hobby Jr., Lieutenant Governor of Texas for 18 years and lecturer of politics and history at the University of Houston. During his tenure as Lieutenant Governor, he championed causes related to public education, health and higher education.
“Because of my many years of participation in the practical application of public-private partnerships, I am particularly honored and excited to contribute in any way to the growth of this world-class policy center,” said Bouchard. “HealthCorps also anticipates ground breaking research for the benefit of our nation’s youth in partnership with the Hobby Center.”
Dr. Jim Granato serves as the director for the Center, which has been recognized nationally for its publications, participation in conferences and symposiums and its core educational programs.
The advisory board for the Public Policy Center is made up of outstanding Houstonians who have made a mark in business and civic affairs while maintaining close partnerships with educational and public service organizations nationally.
